Sameer (Chabdrachur) is a simple, small town boy who lives with his widowed mother (Reema). The only time he makes his mother angry is when he gets provoked to take on daring, challenges risking his life. On the college campus in the city, Sameer is smitten by Sheena (Anjala Zaveri), virtual tomboy who teaches a lesson to anyone who crosses her path. Meanwhile, Sheena's father Ajmera (Shakti Kapoor) has a business feud with his partner Brij (Gulshan Grover) who hires a small time crook Vicky (Arshad Warsi) to teach Ajmera a lesson. Vicky pretends to be Chetan (Pramod Kapoor), the son of Ajmera's friend in America, who is coming to India for the first time, for a possible match making with Sheena. Vicky successfully becomes Chetan and moves into Ajmera's house to woo Sheena.

Brij's play is to destroy Ajmera through Sheena. Sameer finally musters the courage to propose Sheena, but she has a counter proposal. In fifteen days he should kidnap her and reach the Gateway of India, if he succeeds she will marry him. Soon after, Vicky also proposes to Sheena and she tells him that if he stops Sameer from reaching the Gateway of India with her, she will marry him. The two young men accept her challenge. However, a new obstacle enters the scene in the form of Reshma, (Mayoori Kango), Shenna's friend who seeks refuge in Sheena's house when she runs away from her wedding when she discovers she is going to get married to the college ruffian Shekhar (Shadaab Khan). Reshma falls in love at first sight with Vicky.

The kidnapping takes place while Vicky tries to stop Sameer in his mission, Reshma tries to obstruct Vicky. Thus, four enthusianstic young persons are caught in a race for tiem, as they try to get what they want against all odds in this youthful and stirring tale of passions.
