The story of Prem (Salman Khan), Nisha (Madhouri Dixit) and their families. Prem is learning the family business from his elder brother Rajesh and Uncle Kailashnath. Nisha lives in another town, the darling of her sister Pooja and parents. Fate brings the 2 families together, culminating in the marriage of Rajesh & Pooja. Pram also meets Nisha and falls in love! The couple confess their mutual affection, but fate takes a dark turn when Pooja suddenly dies. Rajesh is crestfallen, but his father in law suggests he marry Nisha. Her love for Prem is put to the test as they suppress their passion for the sake of the family.
