Set in Kabul, Afghanistan and directed by Mukul Anand, the film narrates the story of Badshah Khan (Amitabh Bachchan) passionate love for Rani (Sridevi), his wife. Badshah Khan (Amitabh Bachchan), an Afghan Pathan, goes to India to avenge the killing of Rani's father. He becomes involved in an honor pact with a Rajput police officer (Vikram Gokhale). This act forces him to take responsibility for a cop's death. Badshah Khan asks his friend (Danny Denzongpa) to lie to Rani about his death.
