A rich landlord (Rishi Kapoor) and his wife (Rati Agnihotri) separate, thanks to his greedy stepsister (Mita Vashishth) who wants to grab his wealth. They have twin daughters. The parents each take one child with them after separation and the children grow up without ever knowing that they are twins. When the two sisters (Kajol in a double role) meet, they decide to sort out the problems and bring their parents together. It has some hilarious sequences played with elan by Kajol, with her natural flair for comedy, and pleasant songs like ‘Samne Baith Ke’ and ‘Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi’.
